Seven Passenger Cars For A Birthday Trip
When my boss’s daughter, Emma, turned 16 she wished to celebrate by having a day of sight-seeing in the town with 5 of her girl friends. “The city” is San Francisco, which is only some miles away from where my boss lives, and while there’s the public transit option of Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Emma wanted her good friends to be able to sing songs and be energetic during the journey there.
Riding on BART would have required that they sit very quietly rather than disturb the other commuters. Also, finding 6 adjacent seats on the BART train isn’t at all times feasible. My boss asked me to find out if any local car rental companies carried 7 passenger cars. I made some phone calls and checked some web sites and gave my boss the details she required to make an evaluation of 7 passenger vehicles accessible for the day of Emma’s birthday.
This would allow sufficient room for Emma plus 5 of her close friends and my boss would be the driver. My boss made her decision and all the programs were set. The big day came and the climate was wonderful, sunny and warm. Emma, her close friends, and her mom climbed into the mini-van and the party started. Well, in fact, there was more preparation for the party bus before they got on board.
My boss had ordered attractively decorated cupcakes for the young girls to enjoy on the way over the Bay Bridge into the town. And, of course, her close friends had come with their favourite Cd’s to sing along with. As soon as they got into San Francisco, they went to Fisherman’s Wharf, fed the sea lions on the pier, had lunch at a proper restaurant watching out on the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as went window shopping at the Galleria.
And, like any day in San Francisco is guaranteed to provide, took in all the wonderful scenery as well as diversity. Few folks might be intimated by driving through the streets of San Francisco, particularly with a mini-van full of teen-aged girls, but my boss was comfortable driving around the town because she had lived there when she was going to college or university.
When my employer came back to work the following day, she had plenty of photos and stories to tell about the great time the girls had on their day in the town, and it sounded as if it was a birthday that Emma would always remember for her entire life. I think this was the best way for a mom to give her daughter a birthday party on the go. If anybody asks me for a good idea for celebrating a girl’s 16th birthday, I will surely suggest that they look into the option of 7 seater vehicles. And let the party begin!
