Tara Foy to Visit PPAC in April

Tara Foy has just e-mailed me and agreed to be at our studio the week of April 6-13; for the PPAC company auditions and she will also hold OPEN PHOENIX auditions for her summer intensive in Vegas July 21-25. Great News!!!! (I will schedule her to do a lot of classes for our 2A's so they don't have to travel out of town for a ballet intensive; as well as for all of our girls to experience her wonderful teaching style)...these will be closed to PPAC dancers only.

Tiare Keano, Junior National Outstanding NYCDA winner, spent the day with us at Plumb yesterday taking ballet classes and Olga's stretch and condition class. She had a down day before going on to California with the Rockettes to finish her run with the show. We will see her in Denver and possibly Dallas if we add that NYCDA event to our schedule.

Those of us who went to the Rockettes, December 9th, 1:00 p.m. (33 PPAC kids to be exact) got our pictures taken with Stacy and Tiare. It was a great day. Stacy will be back in January...they only have 50 more shows to do in California! We love and miss you Stacy. You were amazing in the show.

Two Valley Students Perform in Fame’s Debbie Allen’s LA Production sponsored by Steven Spielberg and Denzel Washington

(Scottsdale, Ariz.) Nov. 26, 2007 -- Two Valley students from Plumb Performing Art Center have received parts in a nationally acclaimed charity dance production in Los Angeles. It’s produced, directed and choreographed by Fame choreographer Debbie Allen. The production was recently featured on Good Morning America and received high acclaim in the Washington Post.

Cassi Milalovich, 11, and Ashlynn Miller, 11, students from the Plumb Performing Arts Center are performing in the upcoming production of Debbie Allen’s Alex in Wonderland to be held at the UCLA Freud Playhouse from December 12 to December 21. The story tells of a skeptical schoolboy who thinks fairy tales are for sissies. After falling asleep in a library, he finds himself caught up in exotic adventures that parallel the escapades of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland but also involves other enchanted personalities such as Little Red Riding Hood.

The show in its second year has gained the backing of several celebrities including Steven Spielberg, Denzel Washington, Will Smith, and Phylicia Rashad. A portion of the proceeds for the gala event, held on Dec. 13, will go to the scholarship fund of Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy to help pay for the tuition of under-privileged children.

Plumb Performing Arts Center, located at 9153 E. Bell Road in Scottsdale, offers over 160 classes for students ranging from recreational to pre-professional levels. The variety of classes ranging from character to ballet to hip hop are taught by internationally renowned faculty including a four-time Olympic gold medalist Olga Korbut, Ricky Palomino - a top 20 finisher in FOX's reality show So You Think You Can Dance, a Radio City Rockette and other choreographers with international experience.

For more information regarding the event and the Plumb Performing Arts Center call (480) 661-7461 or visit their web site, www.plumbpac.com.
